A quick one, with a side of guilt
Quick one, since I posted on Wednesday. But one of these is something I straight up missed last time, and it deserves better than that.

SHIP
Point and click mystery VN set in a flooded 1950s port city.
I missed this one in the last post and I’m annoyed about it, because it’s sitting at 4.9 stars from 14 ratings.
You wake up in a damp apartment that smells of mold and seawater. You don’t know your name. The face in the mirror is a stranger’s. There’s a soaked note on the nightstand with one line on it: “There is a ship.” Signed, Conrad Blackwood.
The setup is that a torrential rain flooded the city and washed away people’s memories. Some forgot their names. Some walked quietly into the deep water and didn’t come back. Some are pretending.
Windows, Mac, Linux and Android, which is rarer than it should be. On the AI question, the dev discloses AI assistance for code only, not art and not writing, which is about as mild as that disclosure gets.
If you like the amnesia-mystery thing, this looks like the real deal.

Hues of Heart: Spanish edition
Supernatural bara/kemono VN about a student who can see auras.
Hues of Heart now has a full Spanish translation, made by Soft_Tubby as a fan project, and done the right way. The translator’s page opens by crediting GrampyBear and telling people to send all the support and encouragement to him instead. That’s class.
You play Lionel, a university student who just moved to a new city, who can see the auras of living beings, and who starts digging after finding some very odd clues about his maths teacher.
The original is Ren’Py, 4.6 from 16 ratings, and runs in browser, Windows, Linux and Android. Both versions are tagged no generative AI. The translator also notes the creator planned to change some things from the original, so the Spanish build won’t be a straight one-to-one copy.
Para los hispanohablantes del server, esta es para ustedes 🇪🇸

Crown of the Forest Folk
Furry BL VN. Seven days until the royal election.
Got an update this week. You come back to your forest village a week before the next king is chosen, and at Lion’s request you go around winning over the five diplomats: a disciplined Rabbit, a gentle Bear, a shy Deer, a dangerous Wolf, a cunning Fox. Minigames, CGs, romance routes, about half an hour a session.
Being upfront: it’s 2.3 stars from 3 ratings, which is nothing to go on either way, and the dev discloses AI assistance across code, graphics and text, so it’s at the heavy end of that scale. Same studio also has MenCrush, a card battler where you collect 20 men and fight an AI, same disclosure.
Posting it because it’s new, not because I’m vouching for it. If you try it, report back.
👀 On the radar
Canticle … nothing new since 0.4.7 landed on the 14th, which is expected. The revision hits Patreon in two halves across October, and the public build is still on for early November.
Dawn Chorus … The Waves is running a chapter every two weeks and Chapter II dropped on the 11th, so Chapter III should be around the 25th.
Hypermancer … still on 0.1.1 from August 17. Monthly builds were the plan, so build two is now properly overdue. Not worried, just watching.
📺 Catch me live
I stream every week, usually Sundays around 3PM EST. Bara and gay story driven games, plus whatever horror indie catches my eye.
Newest video: One of these men will be found dead in the morning. Can you guess who?
See you Sunday 🐹
